A little about me:  I like to travel.  And when I’m not traveling, my mind wanders. ~ Gina Stark

I’ve been wistfully breezing and browsing through my Venice travel photos from last summer, and I realized I was remiss in my sharing.  Venice – well Italy in general – is so very vibrant and colorful and lively and artful…and so, well, I decided to share a photo gallery to inspire and OK, maybe even gloat a little 😉

Venice flaunts her beauty in the obvious ways…

and the big and bold ways…

Venice has overstepped their color quota...

as well as unexpected ways…

and little and lovely ways…

Then there is the requisite side trip to Murano

…yet I enjoyed more the color overdose that assaulted me in our jaunt over to the “side island” of  Burano

Then, of course there is the seductive quality of Venice at night…

…and the colorful and artful array of the iconic masks of Venice

Overall, I think I am justifying the need for yet MORE exploring and documenting this ancient and exquisite water city.

Thank you for re-journeying to Venice with me. Has it made you as wistful for a shot of espresso in Italy as it has me?  Well, we can suffer together.  If you’ve been (or even if you haven’t yet) …please share your favorite sites, whether iconic or random, or better yet – secret.

What a lovely photo essay, Gina. I guess that Venice is one of the most photogenic cities in the world, still you captured its essence. I particularly liked the 'Beauty in mundane' shot. These are the views of Venice which I like at most.

Thank you, Simon, for visiting and for your generous comments! I, too, enjoying finding and capturing what others find "mundane" but which whisper their beauty, rather than scream it 🙂 Hey….maybe that should be a new blog post… 😉 Thank again!! Gina

OK, you're gonna' think I'm silly…(ya well : ), but you need to consider authoring a photo coffee table(over sized pics)book. No, not a comprehensive everything travel guide, just really cool pics from all over). Oh, did I mention you'd make lots of money? Seriously : )
