Those of you who follow me on Twitter as @SuuperG and here on my blog know me to be a bit of an adventuress; hiking locally and in Italy, skiing faster than my skill dictates, kayaking, paragliding, belly dancing (TRUST me! It’s an adventure when a mid-forties woman publicly bares her midriff while shimmying!), driving faster than my trusty car dictates, climbing frozen glaciers in New Zealand, horse-back riding and dancing on beach bars in Thailand…OK, enough said!

Evidently, the magnanimous people at Ford thought I’d be a good candidate to return to my native Los Angeles to help cheer on the six teams of contestants vying for prizes and a chance to win the new Ford Escape (I’ll take a teal 4WD one, thank you) by competing in adventurous challenges in six different cities.  I’m kinda jealous, as I’d like to participate in these trials, too.  But perhaps, once I see what the L.A. challenge has in store for the six pairs, I may change my tune!

I’m somewhat in the dark about details – you know, all suuper secret reality-show surprise-i-ness  – but I’m hoping you’ll follow me on Twitter and Facebook as I go on set of the very first urban challenge on Monday March 26th and have a chance to interview the teams and crew and give you suuper exclusive previews of what to expect!  I must admit I’m purdy excited 🙂

Do you dare me to say “Gina Stark, SuuperG here, on location…” ?

In my true interactive travel style, I encourage you, my suuperb readers/followers to post some questions you’d like me to pose to the contestants for you, as well as cool places and hang outs you want me to check out while in L.A.  It’s been a while since I lived there and I do know of some hot spots but I always welcome input on my trips!

Act now! You, too, can win a Ford Escape! (sorry, no steak knives) 😉

The Ford Motor Company is compensating me for my time and sharing and I am honored and excited to participate and grit my teeth as I watch these antics first-hand.  Check out the official site here: http://escaperoutes.com/ and if you sign up and play along, you can also compete to win a nifty set of wheels!*

In this way, everyone comes out a winner.  Wish me luck…ermm…wish THEM luck. OK, both!  Thank you for your support and see you out there.

Being a longtime Escape driver, I'd be interested to see what adventurous paces they put their Escapes through… my adventurous routes include the one to my kids' school and the nearest Trader Joe's.
When I lived in LA, one of my favorite places to go to check out the art scene was Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. It's a hidden gem with an industrial vibe, filled with unique galleries and art shows. Chances are you've already been there and know all about it, but if not – check it out and let us know if it's still a cool place to hang out.

Deana! Thank you so much for visiting and sharing! I am SO going to check out the Bergamot Station! I had heard of it, but, no, not had a chance to enjoy its offerings. Enjoy your Escape and I shall enjoy my own "escape" by savoring the delights of LA while I'm here. Cheers! Gina

Hi Tushar and thanks for reading 🙂 Yes! It was very cold mostly from the freezing rain : and I, too, have long nurtured the dream to trek the Himalayas. It will happen! Happy and safe travels. Gina
