Shadows of Concert Lighting

Shadows of Concert Lighting

OK, it’s not like I “discovered” Joe Bonamassa, any more than Columbus “discovered” America.  It was there, waiting to be noticed, appreciated, revered.  And I’m so glad this man’s music and talent patiently awaited my discovery 🙂  I can really say to this guy, “you rock!” , and mean it in the literal sense.  I am no music critic so I won’t try to describe it – OK, maybe a wee bit!  He’s bluesy, yes, and I found myself detecting flavors of Pink Floyd and Stevie Ray Vaughn , but his singing….that voice! I can liken it to no other. I couldn’t nab a recording, of course, but I got some really cool pics of the lighting effects on the stage and ceiling! 😀  Oh, and you can get a listen here > Ballad of John Henry

Wow Joe Bonamassa! He is great. My husband Mike and I love him. We like the blues. And he play a great blues guitar, we agree reminiscent of Pink Floyd and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He was at the Guthrie in Minneapolis last fall and blew the place away. Loved it!

So glad to have “discovered” your blog! Will be back.

Thank you, Libby for agreeing with me…umm…wait, no…I mean for your comment! 😉 I’ve decided to start attending more concerts in general. I missed Brandi Carlile while she was in California when I was in Spain, but I know I’m not allowed to pout about that! 🙂 Have a great day and many more great travels..I look forward to hearing about your adventures! (Your travel blog is now on my roll – Horse-back riding in France! What could be dreamier?!)

My husband, Rob, and I were first introduced to Joe as the opening act for B.B. King at Casino Morongo back in 2006. What a great discovery! We are looking forward to seeing him again as well.

Hi Misty! He IS quite the discovery and yet, he is so awesome in concert I can’t seem to find anything to compare on YouTube, etc. I have my memories, though…and my blurry concert pics! lol Cheers, G
